    WHAT HAPPENED?

    La Albiceleste thrashed arch-rivals Brazil 4-1 on Tuesday in a CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying match. Julian Alvarez, Enzo Fernandez, Alexis Mac Allister and Guiliano Simeone were on target as the world champions steamrolled over the Selecao, having already booked their spot in next summer's tournament thanks to Uruguay's draw with Bolivia earlier in the day.

    Towards the end of the game, when Argentina were already 4-1 up, goalkeeper Martinez was spotted showboating inside the penalty as he performed keep-ups. Despite his team virtually sealing a thumping win, the gesture did not sit well with head coach Scaloni. The World Cup-winning manager was visibly angry as he shook his finger to show his disapproval and directed Martinez to continue with the game.
